Ogreena is Black Owned !

It all started in 2009.

Ogreena formerly known as Green Carpet Clean has been in business since 2009. Founder Far I Shields, an African American Musician, Artist, Father and Entrepreneur, was introduced to this all-natural, non-chemical, eco-friendly way of cleaning by friend and community member John Fargo during one of Far I’s  Freedom Road Shows. The Freedom Road Shows were hosted every Friday night, allowing space for local artists and musicians to perform and display their creations. This space attracted like-minded, health-conscious individuals and invited them to meet face-to-face and share their ideas for creating a more sustainable world. Green Carpet Clean and Housekeeping Services was then born.  

During this time, Far I and his family faced the 2008 real estate crash, along with the recession, and lost their house as a result of the declining economy. Despite this, Far I and his family continued to offer their community carpet cleaning and housekeeping services. Elderly people, large families, and sensitive individuals who relied on non-toxic, all-natural products made up a large portion of Green Cleaning's clientele. Over time, Green Carpet Cleaning underwent a name change to Ogreena and expanded its range of services to include more domestic and commercial ones including tile and grout cleaning, window washing, and janitorial services.

Ogreena had to pivot because of the Covid 19 Pandemic

During the Covid 19 pandemic, Ogreena has had to pivot once again as a result of  the plummeting residential cleaning market. Due to the documentation that needed to be completed in order to obtain PPE support, we had to get creative with our cleaning crew, and some members switched from field to administrative tasks. Together, we developed the plan to establish a green lifestyle business with the goal of assisting people in leading environmentally friendly lives by offering interior and exterior cleaning services and eco-friendly, innovative products that respect Mother Nature. As we have aligned with our mission, our services have grown to new heights. The objective is to provide sufficient services to assist each client in making the transition to a more sustainable way of life. As of right now, we provide cleaning services for residential and commercial properties as well as construction-related services like solar and ADU (Additional Unit) installations. 

Ogreena Team Members saw the value of health and wellbeing as a basic service to our community as Covid 19 spread over the globe. Ogreena Market was the result of this. In addition to the cleaning service, we now provide internal cleaning and wellness products, such as ACF immunological response for immune system support and Bentonite Clay to cleanse the colon.
